Health Assessments (19 February 2016)

Please don't forget in 2012 the Club launched its Breed Specific Health Assessment, approved by the Kennel Club & BVA, the Assesment was also commended by Professor Sheila Crispin at the KC Eye Health Seminar.

The Health Assessment was developed by the Breed Club with the assistance of other Breed Clubs and MRCVS Veterinary Surgeons. It is not intended to replace KC / BVA Health Screening Schemes, but to provide an additional relatively inexpensive option to compliment current schemes.

It is hoped that the Health Assessment will be adopted by Neapolitan Mastiff owners to monitor annually the health of individual dogs, and assist the Club with its collection & collation of much needed data regarding the health of our breed as a whole.

We have three recommended Vets currently undertaking assessments for us, and welcome the details of any further Vets who would be prepared to come-on-board to assist with our Health Surveillance & Research.

Individual assessments via the vets stated below is around £30 per dog.
