TNMC is deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Maria Julia Manfredi (Prixcan affix) to cancer after a short illness. Julia judged our13th breed open show in 2016, has judged our breed at Crufts in 2009 as well as owning the breed. She imported her Mastino, Vespa Dell’Alta Fiumara, from Italy in 1990. She was bred by Antonio Di Lorenzo, sired by Alessio out of Notturna Dell’Alta Fiumara and was a granddaughter of the great El Gavilan Dell’Alta Fiumara.

She was a wise molosser judge & Mastiff owner who never seemed to mind sharing her knowledge with anyone who asked for advice. We offer our heartfelt condolences to her extended family and friends. Here is what she had to say after judging our breed show which was very typical of her – It was a great privilege to be invited to judge at the Neapolitan Mastiff Club’s annual open show. I enjoyed it very much! As many of you are probably aware Neapolitan Mastiffs are very close to my heart and are superseded only by the Mastiff. I was taught to judge positively, not negatively and I think that generally the breed is in a “good place” at the moment and that the majority of exhibits displayed the breed traits that differentiate the Neapolitan.
