A3 Specialist Judges List Criteria

For judges whom the Neapolitan Mastiff Club would support to award CC’s should they become available to the breed?  With the exception of those already passed to give CC’s or the equivalent in their own country. Or overseas breed specialist Judges, who fulfill the same type of criteria below, in their own country.

It is also expected that all judges meet the relevant KC criteria requirements & have joined (or will do within the relevant time scale) the JCF scheme to judge at all levels.

Our breed criteria being as follows:

  • Breed specialist with a minimum of 7 years judging experience in the breed and have the support of the Club
  • Overseas Breed Specialist with a minimum of 5 years judging experience.
  • To have judged a minimum of 20 dogs at Open Shows or Championship Shows (without CC’s) and who have attended a breed-related seminar
  • To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer and passed the examination on Kennel Club Regulations and Judging Procedures and who have attended a breed-related seminar
  • To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer on Conformation and Movement and who have attended a breed-related seminar
  • To have attended a Conformation and Movement ‘Hands-on Assessment’ given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer and passed the assessment.
  • To have attended at least one breed specific judging seminar run in accordance with the Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and passed an examination and/or assessment where applicable
  • To have attended at least one breed specific judging seminar run in accordance with the Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and passed an examination and/or assessment where applicable
  • To have stewarded over a minimum of 3 years and at 12 shows and have attended a Breed Club seminar since 20022008/2019*

A3 Non-Specialist Judges List Criteria

  • Minimum of 7 years judging experience in any one breed to include 5 years in this breed and have the support of the Club
  • To have awarded CC’s in at least one other breed and attended a breed-related seminar or will attend the next Breed Club seminar
  • Judges who have attended a Breed Club seminar since 2002 2008* or who have to the satisfaction of the judging committee, judged the breed at a General Championship show
  • To have judged a minimum of 25 dogs at Open Shows or Championship Shows (without CC’s) and who have attended a breed-related seminar
  • To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer and passed the relevant examination on Kennel Club Regulations and Judging Procedures and who have attended a breed-related seminar
  • To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer and passed the relevant examination on Kennel Club Regulations and Judging Procedures and who have attended a breed-related seminar
  • To have attended at least one breed specific seminar run in accordance with the relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and passed an examination and/or assessment where applicable
  • To have stewarded over a minimum of 3 years and at 12 shows and have attended a Breed Club seminar since 2008/2019 *

B Specialist Judges List Criteria

  • Breed specialists who have 5+ years’ experience of owning and exhibiting in this breed and have the support of the Club.
  • Breed specialists who own, exhibit or have bred & who have also done the relevant KC JFC seminars pertaining to be a ‘B’ list judge.
  • Judges who have already judged the breed at Open or Championship show level with a minimum of 3 classes per show and who will attend the next breed seminar
  • Judges who have attended a Breed Club seminar since 2008/2019* and have stewarded in breed classes at a show

B Non-Specialist Judges List Criteria

  • Non-specialist to have 5 years experience of owning and exhibiting in any one breed and have the support of the Club
  • Non-specialist/all-rounders who have a minimum of 7 years judging experience in a breed and who have attended a Breed Club seminar since20022008/2019*
  • Judges who have already judged the breed at Open Show level with a minimum of 3 classes per show and who will attend the next breed seminar
  • Judges who have already judged the breed at Open Show level with a minimum of 3 classes per show and who will attend the next breed seminar

C Specialist Judges List Criteria

  • For aspiring Judges and Judges who have shown an interest in this breed and have the support of the Club
  • Breed specialist owner/breeder/exhibitor who may not have judged but have attended a Breed Club seminar since 2008/2019*
  • Judges who at Open Show level have already judged the breed and have already attended a breed-related seminar

C Non-Specialist Judges List Criteria

  • Aspiring judges who have attended a Breed Club seminar since 20022008/2019* and have the support of the Club
    Judges who may have judged before at Open Show level and although never having attended a Breed Club seminar will do so when the next one becomes available
  • * In view of our latest breed seminar 2019, the changes to KC Breed Standard (2008-2009) & KC High Profile Status of Breed (2009). The time-scale is amended for Judges List Criteria, Judges Applications & Judges Renewals from 2013, with Kennel Club approval (Oct 2012). Also, KC JCF scheme is applicable.NB: It is a requirement that all Judges provide a timely critique (within 4 weeks) to the Club Secretary and Our dogs.
